Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival 2008

For one weekend in June Middlewich transforms into a colourful and lively town filled with folk music and narrowboats.

Here at The Narrowboat we welcome back old friends and enjoy meeting new ones. There is always a special atmosphere as enthusiastic boating and music fans sit eating and partaking of the odd glass or two while telling tales of the trips taken down the canals of Britain since the last festival.

What a great sight it is to see every inch of mooring taken up with the well turned out narrow boats after which our public house is named. What would have happened to our network of canals if it had not been for these enthusiasts and all the volunteers who have revitalised the network?

The whole town comes alive on the Saturday morning as the parade makes its way through to Market Field. From then it never stops as people make their way around the various music venues and other attractions.

If you are a canal, narrowboat or folk music fan and you have missed out this year we would love to see you here next year.

Call in at The Narrowboat for a meal, just call in during the day but evening bookings are advisable, and enjoy our well kept beers.

If you are not here on a barge and would like to stay for the weekend, book in with us for bed and breakfast, you could not be nearer to the centre of the action. Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to meeting new friends next year and would like to thank all those old friends who have visited us once again this year.
